What is PCOS?
A condition in which your ovary makes many small follicles monthly but you don’t have a dominant follicle which ovulates. You can end up going for months without a period.

Why does PCOS cause acne?
PCOS interferes with the normal monthly fluctuation of hormones. Many girls and women end up with an excess of androgens, an acne causing hormone. Birth control pills are not just for birth control. They can help you with the hormones of PCOS that aggravate acne.

Why does PCOS make weight management a problem?
Many girls and women with PCOS have some level of insulin resistance. Let us talk to you about a medication to help with that. Even if you are not diabetic, glucophage may help you.

Can I ever get pregnant if I have PCOS?
Most women with PCOS respond very well to medications to stimulate ovulation. Do not assume that since you have PCOS you can not get pregnant. You don’t know when you will ovulate, so you have to be very careful.
